Pigging Solutions for Today's Pipeline Applications

Spy Pig Tracker

The SPY PIG TRACKER is an electronic pig location system that will locate your pigs wherever they go – through gathering lines. Mainline transmission lines, municipal gas, water, and wastewater lines, refinery and other industrial piping.

Using strong low frequency signals the Pig Tracker system gives you a more reliable signal and longer signal life. Depending on the model, Pig Tracker signal can be received for up to 500 hours. It operates in standard batteries – readily available from retail stores. No recharger is necessary.

The Pig Tracker system consists of a cylindrical transmitter which travels with the pig, and a hand held pick-up wand and receiver that receive the signals and inform the operator of the transmitter/pig's location.

THE WAND AND RECEIVER (PTR)

The transmitter creates a changing magnetic field which the pick-up wand senses. The signal is amplified and processed by the Pig Tracker receiver (PTR), with both audible and visual output. Two (2) 9 volt alkaline flashlight batteries power the PTR, with a battery life of about 50 hours of continuos operation. The pick-up wand plugs into the receiver and and can be used inter-changeably with all Pig Tracker transmitters.

The Pig Tracker System can be adapted for underwater use. A special water - proof wand with 100, 250, or 500 foot cable can be provided for underwater operation.

SPY PIG TRACKER SYSTEMS

There are three (3) Pig Tracker Systems, each designed for maximum performance within its range of line pipe sizes. The only difference between the systems is the transmitter.

The Model 12 System is designed for 12" and larger pipe with 1 1/2"R or greater bends. It incorporates the PT 750 transmitter.

The Model 4 System is designed for 6" to 12" pipe with a 1 1/2 R or greater bends , using the PT 275 transmitter.

The Model 2 System is for pipe sizes 2" to 6". This includes the PT 107 transmitter, specially designed to fit in foam pigs and solid cast urethane pigs. The PT 107 negotiates line sizes 3" to 6" with 3R or greater bends and 2" lines with 5R or greater bends.
